Gracie arrived at H.O.P.E. in June 2024 along with her mom, Mercy, and fellow donkey, Amigo. When circumstances made it impossible for their owner to take care of them any longer and rehoming was difficult, they were surrendered to the rescue. Gracie is sweet, if a little shy at first. She was initially not fond of being groomed, but volunteers have been working on making her more comfortable with brushes, combs, and picking up her feet. She requires sedation to get her hooves trimmed. We have also been working on getting her weight down to a healthier level. Her new owner should have some experience with donkeys, understand their nutritional needs, and be comfortable working with her on getting her feet trimmed.
