Ivy's sweet face is a familiar one at H.O.P.E. Acres. When she first came to the rescue in early 2017, she was desperately malnourished, registering at the lowest point on the Henneke Body Condition Score system. She made an amazing recovery and was adopted into a loving family in 2018.
Sometimes an owner's situation changes, however, and we always welcome our horses back if an adoption doesn't work out for any reason. Ivy returned to the rescue in 2022. She's much older now and has melanoma. We expect that she will remain indefinitely at the rescue, where she can receive any care she needs.
