H.O.P.E. is headed back to the Agricultural building with horses and our amazing volunteers! Stop by the booth and say hello, get your photo taken with a miniature horse, learn about volunteer opportunities or make a donation to show your support. We'll be there Thursday-Sunday the first weekend and Friday-Sunday the second weekend of the fair.

Bark in the Park

Daniel Island Waterfront Park
H.O.P.E. Acres will be joining The Daniel Island News and other animal lovers at Daniel Island’s beautiful Waterfront Park for the 4th Annual Bark in the Park festival on Saturday, Nov. 2nd.
It’s a tail-waggin’ good time featuring a free, fun-filled, family festival packed with entertainment! There will be K-9 demonstrations, professional dog groomers, pet adoptions, kid games, and a lively DJ to keep the paw-ty going strong. Shop dozens of local pet and non-pet vendors while supporting small businesses from Daniel Island and the Cainhoy area. Plus, tasty food will be available to quench your breakfast and lunch appetites throughout the day!

Silent Auction

Join us for an afternoon of arts and crafts in support of H.O.P.E. Acres Rescue!
We're holding a silent auction with online bidding plus a live event at the Lowcountry Public House in Summerville, September 14, 1-4 PM. Local artists and crafters, including award-winning painters Sue Selvey and Karyn Healey, have donated pieces in various mediums for auction, with proceeds benefiting the horses and donkeys of H.O.P.E.!
Wildlife artist Sue Selvey will be onsite painting a portrait of Skye, one of our rescued horses, during the event. The finished artwork will be raffled (winner to be announced the following day). Come enjoy the art, learn about the rescue, and get a drink or a bite to eat while you're there! The Lowcountry Public House will be offering equestrian themed cocktails in honor of the event.
If you're unable to make it to the event or want to place early bids on your favorite items, you can still participate! Online bidding is open until 4 PM on Saturday, September 14. Be sure to check out all of our fantastic items (select "All" from the Categories list)!

About Sue Selvey
Sue Selvey has participated in Lowcountry Wildlife Art and Photography Exhibition (at Magnolia Gardens) and Ag+Art 2024. She has won awards at the state-wide Old Santee Canal Fine Art Exhibition, The SC State Fair Fine Art Show, the Coastal Carolina Fine Art Show, the Summerville Artist Guild's Member Show, and the Berkeley Artists Guild's Member Show. She is a 3 time winner of both Best in Show at the Goose Creek Artists Guild's Annual Member Show and a Purchase award from the City of Goose Creek. She has also curated and judged exhibitions for People and Paintings Gallery in Staten Island, NY. Sue Selvey is represented by Camden Art Shoppes.
