Colby was rescued by his owner, but because they lacked the resources for his rehabilitation, he was surrendered to Animal Control of Berkeley County in January, 2018. After his arrival at H.O.P.E. Acres, he was seen by a vet, received vaccinations and a Coggins, had his teeth floated, and was placed on a nutritional program to get him up to his proper weight. He was also treated for stomach ulcers. Over the spring and summer, several volunteers have been working closely with Colby on his ground manners, and we hope to evaluate his training under saddle soon. Given his age, we believe he has a lot of potential.
